Partly made from leftovers from the preparations for THE FUTURE OF BELONGING IS DISPLACEMENT @kabinett.gallery and partly newly created, these 'alterlife drain snakes' are inspired by the concept of ‘alterlife’ by the Indigenous feminist scholar Michelle Murphy.
Thanks to the archive + artist-led curatorial project @helloo0dump they were saved from being discarded due to lack of space and shown in the group show DUMP 02 at FILET in August 2024.
Made from expanding foam and found, reclaimed objects, they visualise the entanglement of human bodies with urban fabric and the objects we leave behind.
